ABOUT THE CLIENT:
My client are an IT services provider, supporting schools and businesses throughout the region. Rather than offering generic solutions, they deliver a variety of tailored IT services designed to fit clients unique needs. Their offerings include on-site technician services, remote support, network management, data security, hardware and software support, and cloud-based solutions. They are now looking for a 2nd Line Support Technician to join them.

THE 2ND LINE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN ROLE:
- Provide 2nd line technical support to the school’s staff and students.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning.
- Support network administration, troubleshooting connectivity, server, and desktop issues.
- Manage and maintain key systems, including Windows servers, Active Directory, and Office 365.
- Work with various educational software platforms and manage user accounts and permissions.
- Assist with IT equipment installations, updates, and maintenance across the school.
- Collaborate with 3rd line teams and escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with the school’s data protection and IT security policies.
2ND LINE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN – ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Proven experience in a 2nd line support role, ideally within an educational or MSP environment.
- Strong technical skills in Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and general networking.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting, desktop support, and managing school-specific systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple tasks with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when supporting non-technical users.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school environment.
