Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Data andamp; Compliance Manager to lead and manage the company’s data protection, governance, and compliance efforts. This is a critical, standalone position with a clear pathway to progression. You’ll be working in a hybrid setup, with two days on-site in Manchester each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • ISO27001 Implementation andamp; Auditing: Take ownership of the ISO27001 framework, ensuring effective implementation, ongoing management, and regular audits.
  • Data Protection andamp; GDPR Compliance: Lead GDPR compliance initiatives, implementing policies and procedures to protect data and minimise risk across the organisation.
  • Governance: Establish and maintain robust data governance structures and processes, ensuring consistent compliance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Internal Training: Provide training and guidance to staff on data protection, compliance, and governance to build organisational awareness and resilience.
  • Risk Management: Regularly assess potential data and compliance risks, proactively recommending and implementing mitigations.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, with demonstrated expertise in ISO27001 implementation and audit
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection Act, and general data governance principles.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage projects from conception to completion.
  • Eligibility: To be considered, candidates must be British citizens, hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), or possess settled status.
