We are recruiting a Data Engineer for a prestigious Defence and National Security Consultancy client in Bristol. WHAT WILL THE SENIOR DATA ENGINEER BE DOING?
- Design and maintain data architectures and pipelines.
- Manage large, complex data sets and acquire new data sources.
- Optimise processes for data modelling, mining, and ETL.
- Improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
- Collaborate with teams to develop insights and address data infrastructure needs.
- Build tools for analytics and data science to support business goals.
THE SENIOR DATA ENGINEER SHOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE IN…
- Expertise in SQL, cloud-based data pipelines (Azure/AWS/GCP), and architectures.
- Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) and large data sets.
- Proficient in data pipeline management, Azure services, and stream-processing systems.
- Agile environment experience and problem-solving mindset.
- Programming knowledge in Python, Scala, C, C++, or Java is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to collaborate across teams.
- Consultancy background or experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
