How can you possibly tell whether you are living your dream job or are just working another job? Here are a couple of things you need to know to differentiate the two and determine if you really do love your job.
Do you get excited when prioritizing what to do?
Normally people struggle with keeping the enthusiasm to stay on task and focus because they just aren’t that into what they are working on. If your main problem isn’t how to stay focused, but what to focus on then clearly you are at the right job. If you love what you are working on and get so excited that you don’t know what you work on first, then this is the job for you.
Are customers just a number or are they people?
If you genuinely care about what you are providing to the customer then you must love what you are doing. By caring about what the customer wants you are inspired to satisfy them and will ultimately put all of your effort into your work just to satisfy them. If this is you, then you have found a great job for you.
How many times a day do you look at the clock?
This is the ultimate test to see if you love your job. If you keep looking at the clock and wishing your day was over then you are probably miserable and don’t like your job. On the other hand, if you never take so much as a peek at the clock and hope that your workday will never end, then you most likely love doing what you are doing and are at the right job.
